Of photography and tourbuses and flash units

I didn't mention it here on my weblog but my pal Bob Rankin let me take over the popular Internet Tourbus newsletter to write about photography and where to find good online resources to improve your own photographs. The result was impressive: I recorded over 20,000 visitors to my online portfolio Boulder Photography and received waves of email from readers (riders?) that were quite enjoyable and interesting.

Among the many questions I was asked were questions about what digital camera to buy, what kind of printer to get, how to get better results from printers, and whether I offer any courses or tutorials on landscape photography. Quite gratifying, as you might expect! Fortunately, I have archived my Tourbus issue and you can read it here if you'd like to see what sites I recommended (they include Kodak and Photo.net) and what I had to say about smart and easy ways that you can improve your photographs today.

And while I'm talking about photographs, if you're an active reader of my weblog and a photographer, you might well be interested in bidding on my Nikon SB-80DX speedflash which I recently replaced with the 800DX for its remote capabilities. Many of the portraits shown in my portfolio used the 80DX as a fill-flash and it's a great unit!

If you do have any questions about digital photography, I can't claim to be an expert by any means, but I'm happy to help out: just contact me and we'll chat. :-)
