Listen, Think, Learn: Public Speaking
I have an extensive background in professional and public speaking, including presentations at some of the largest industry trade shows, all-day workshops, and multi-day workshops. I've run top-rated workshops (most recently at the Affiliate Summit), been an award-winning keynote speaker at conferences (most recently for the AMA Colorado annual conference), moderated expert panels (most recently for the Lighthouse Venture Forum), and helped organize entire conferences (including Web Commerce, Blogworld and New Media Expo and the Aloha Social Media Summit). If you were searching for a professional keynote speaker in Colorado or a keynote speaker for Denver, then you've definitely found the right guy!
Venues have ranged from the quite intimate (an all-day workshop on Success Strategies for Entrepreneurial Consultants with eight attendees) to the large (my Business Blogging 101 half-day workshop at the Blog Business Summit had over 200 attendees) and enormous (an all-day Internet Marketing Essentials workshop at the Monterey Conference and Convention Center main room in Monterey, California with at least 450 people in attendence).
Consistently, feedback demonstrates that I'm an engaging, entertaining and knowledgeable presenter with a relaxed style and strong rapport with the audience. The last dozen or so conferences where I have spoken, the attendees have voted me best speaker: I am indeed an award-winning speaker. But don't take my word for it! Read some testimonials from conference organizers and attendees.
My most recent public speaking events have been at the Colorado PDMA meeting, talking on the virtues of business blogging, a panel on "Achieving a Healthy Balance of Work and Family Life" at a entrepreneurship conference, "Establishing Yourself as a Brand" at the Waterside Writer's Conference, a talk on the "How Startups Perceive Investors" for the International Angel Investors, a presentation on "Key Elements of New Media" for the Rocky Mountain Internet User's Group, moderating "Is it an Idea or is it a Business?" for the Silicon Valley Association of Software Entrepreneurs, moderating both the "Business in a Changing Market" and "Getting Your Business Funded" panels at the Santa Cruz Technology Symposium, and moderating "Success Strategies for Changing Times" for the Lighthouse Venture Forum.
Other media experience includes quite a bit of radio work, including co-hosting the popular "Startup Story Radio" national radio program, and guest spots on many radio shows, including appearances on Steven Van Yoder's "Get Slightly Famous" program, Tom Floyd's "Insight on Coaching", David Lawrence's syndicated "David Lawrence Live" program and David Raidin's popular "Internet Insider" program, starred in both satellite TV and video productions, and co-hosting an Internet-related infomercial series with John de Lancie of Star Trek fame.
I greatly enjoy public speaking, being a keynote speaker, offering my services as a new media speaker, blogging speaker, etc., etc. regardless of group size and venue, and would be happy to discuss opportunities in the greater Colorado Front Range area, or just about anywhere else in the United States. If you're looking for a speaker, please contact me and we'll talk!
