Da Vinci OS5 v2.0 demonstrates da Vinci 5’s continued advancements aimed at helping improve patient care. In this latest platform update, we bring new features designed to help increase OR efficiency, improve surgeon connectivity, and expand learning opportunities.

Single-tap feature simplifies surgeon login

Surgeons logged into the My Intuitive app simply tap their phone on the armrest to log in to da Vinci 5 and start every case with fewer steps. All da Vinci 5 activity is automatically synchronized with their Case Insights profile for quick access to insights after procedures.

Tower camera enhances remote viewing

This da Vinci 5 update includes new hardware to expand visibility to the full operating room (OR). The Tower camera enables remote viewers to see the room setup and care team in action with pan and zoom controls. Remote viewers can toggle between the in-console and room view to gain a more in-depth clinical and situational awareness.

Live cursor enriches telecollaboration

This new Telepresence feature enables a remote viewer to place and move a live cursor on the surgeon’s console view. The cursor enables more precise real-time guidance and communication during telepresence sessions.

Multi-arm targeting eliminates undocking

By enabling targeting with any number of arms docked, multi-arm targeting helps simplify targeting before and during a case. This enhancement aims to reduce case setup time as well as create more efficient intraoperative retargeting during multiquadrant surgery.

Surgeon-initiated tool eject increases autonomy

Surgeons can retract the camera and instruments directly from the console, optimizing tool exchanges for the bedside assistant. This new feature increases surgeon autonomy and decreases errors caused by miscommunication with bedside staff.

SimNow 2.3 expands and evolves learning

New connected learning playlists provide quick access to curated content for targeted practice, including skills-maintenance and warm-up exercises. The number of exercises continues to grow, with more than 50 now available through the self-guided curriculum.
